We are in the process of preparing a script for the course. Please contribute to the lecture notes wiki (login using your NETHZ account).
No books are required but much of the material will come from CBRG papers and we will also follow closely some chapters from the book by Dan Gusfield entitled "Algorithms on Strings, Trees, and Sequences". A good reference book for Phylogeny is "Inferring Phylogenies" by Joseph Felsenstein.
